This policy outlines the guidelines for selecting
contractors at Mitsui &Co. and the Mitsui & Co. Global
Group. Mitsui &
Co. Global StrategicStudies Institute requires compliance with the following
requirementsfrom its contractors. It
should also be
noted that in the contractorselection process,
priority is given to determining the likelihood of
therequirements listed below being met by a candidate
contractor byobtaining and analyzing their relevant
track
records, including their pastaccident history, in
advance, rather than by merely emphasizing
theeconomic conditions
that the candidate contractor
may be able to meet,such as contract amounts and delivery dates.

MITSUI & CO. MACHINE TECH LTD. shall always prioritize the health and safety of its employees and all those involved in its business activities.

2.Contractor Selection Policy

The following are the requirements that a contractor (hereinafter referred to as CONTRACTOR) is expected to comply with when selected to undertake business for or on behalf of Mitsui & Co. Strategic Research Institutes.

(Safety Firs)

  • CONTRACTOR shall ensure the health and safety of its employees by aiming to achieve a zero accident rate in the workplace by creating a pleasant and safe working environment.

(Regulatory Complianc)

  • CONTRACTOR shall comply with all relevant laws and regulations related to occupational health and safety.

(Elimination of hazards and other harmful factors)

  • ONTRACTOR shall identify hazards and other harmful factors and seek to reduce risks to a minimum in a feasible manner to ensure a safe working environment.

(Occupational Health and Safety Education)

  • Mitsui & Co. StrategicResearch Institute and CONTRACTOR shall work closely together toimprove the awareness and capabilities of each individual employee withregard to occupational health and safety, and to put them into practice.

(Continuous Improvement)

  • CONTRACTOR shall make continuous efforts to maintain and improve occupational health and safety activities and systems.

(Respect for Human Rights)

  • CONTRACTOR shall respect human rights
    and diverse cultures in the course of its business activities, refrain from
    any discrimination, avoid human rights violations, and work closely with
    Mitsui & Co. Strategic Research Institute to ensure that discrimination
    and human rights violations are not promoted.
